International Summer Adventure Camp
We will be back in 2025!
Intensive English or German courses in the Swiss Alps
(and a lot of fun)
The International Summer Adventure Camp is a two-week learning journey, high above the world at 1700 metres on the campus of the Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) in the Engadine Valley, Switzerland. Here you will study English or German together with young people from around the world and explore the Swiss Alps. It will be a time to remember for the thrills, the friendships, for the fun and laughter, and for the inspiration you will take home with you.
Thanks to our robust COVID-19 safety concept our school community is safe and healthy. We will use all our best practices and implement them for the Summer Camp as well. In case we need to cancel due to COVID-19, the school will refund 100% of the total price paid.
It is not cheese, chocolate or watches, it's not even a bank. It is a Summer Adventure Camp! Yeap, it is made in Switzerland just for you, so that you will feel at home, relaxed and can grow. Not another 10 cm like every summer, but grow as a person, learn how to take responsibility and take action. With your new friends, caring for the planet or simply just for yourself. Scroll down and discover what you will experience in our HIF ISAC and explore all the activities we will do together. We are like a family: just be who you are, don't be shy - learn to be confident and ... clear up your table after dinner yourself ...

summer camp
of my life!"

At the International Summer Adventure Camp we explore the region together in 2 full-day excursions per week and immerse in 5-afternoon programmes with a thematic focus centered around nature, sports and sustainability. Personalize your Summer Camp adventure and choose your favourite activity, and focus on it 3 afternoons per week. Horseback riding? Outdoor adventures? Or do you want to learn something to help our planet? Tell your parents: all these focus activities are without any extra charge. How cool is that!
Do you love to be around horses or have you always wanted to learn how to ride? At the ranch of San Jon you will feel like a cowgirl or cowboy.
Join the Nature and Sustainability Workshop and you will get to know the regional flora and fauna, the forest and the local rivers and lakes.
Are you an adrenalin-junkie and love to try new sports? Join the group of outdoor adventurers and set your energy free! The dinner will taste even better.
Explore the rich history of the Engadine Valley! A visit to the Castle of Tarasp is a great way to get to know the region and the local culture. Don't worry it won't be boring.
No kidding! Nevin Galmarini, Olympic Gold Medalist and HIF alumnus will be your coach for the afternoon. You will sleep like a log tonight.
Always wanted to be a cowgirl or cowboy? This time we travel to Canada! Or at least, this is what it feels like at the ranch in San Jon.
Try out our climbing wall, join a team and play uni hockey or take on a volleyball challenge. After all, we are a Sports Academy.
No notifications, no chats. We collect your phone and you only get it back in the evenings to catch-up. Read or play with your new friends!
We have mountains. Lots of them. It's your chance now to discover them on foot, on a bike or with a mountain scooter. Bring a good rain jacket!
The HIF Boarding House will be your home for the 2-weeks of adventure in Ftan. Your safety, security and well-being, in short, your happiness are the basis for your educational and personal development during the Summer Camp. We have a separate section for girls and boys with 24/7 pastoral care during the entire stay. The ratio of the pastoral staff to students: 1:9. You will stay in comfortable double rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
We provide 3 full meals per day plus snacks in the morning and afternoon. Regional, seasonal, fresh and healthy - that is our nutrition concept. We pay attention to a healthy and seasonal diet and whenever possible source our products from the region, the Engadine mountains: Hatecke supplies us with sustainable meat products, Pastizaria Cantieni provides freshly baked bread. Food allergies and intolerances are taken into consideration wherever possible.
